50 Women to Watch in Tech
Are you a woman silently changing the technology industry from the confines of your cubicle? Perhaps you know of a woman seeking to launch the next big thing from her daily seat at Starbucks? If so, we want to hear from you.
Femmeonomics is thrilled to announce its first list highlighting 50 women to watch in tech. There have been many lists of women to watch in technology recently. Unlike other lists, Femmeonomics plans to highlight the ambitious and creative women flying just under the radar.
If you or someone you know fit into one of the categories below, we want to hear from you. Please send your nominees to with the hashtag #Top50. You can also send your pitches to us on or email us at . To be fair to those tweeting, please keep your pitches to 140 characters and don’t forget to include a link!

The judges:
Whitney Johnson is a founding partner of Rose Park advisors and the author of the upcoming book, “Dare-Dream-Do: Remarkable Things Happen When You Dare to Dream.” She is based in Boston.
John Paul Aguiar is an Internet entrepreneur, a blogger and a kidney transplant recipient over 100,000 followers. He is based in Boston.
Mathew Ingram is a senior writer at GigaOM, a former journalist with the Globe and Mail and co-founder of the mesh conference in Toronto.
The categories are:
1. Unsung heroes: Women working behind the scenes
2. Game Changers: Women seeking to re-invent the industry
3. Stereotype Busters: Women making waves in male-dominated environments
4. Aspiring Captains of Industry: Women with great ideas who haven’t made it yet, such as early stage start-ups
5. Authoritative Voices: Influential bloggers and writers
The categories are purposely vague in an effort to allow a wide-range of submissions.

I’m trying to build a network to inform and inspire thinking using social media like twitter, facebook, digg, other news sources and blogs. Most people I know are uninformed or misinformed, and therefore make poor choices in things that matter. I’de like to inspire people to get involved in positive change, and to become full participants in this world by providing accessible information and gateways for opportunity. Technology is moving so rapidly today that many can’t or don’t keep up with it and recognize the possibilities. They may also be too busy to search for relevant information with which to inform themselves before they make decisions. I’de like to enable others to make positive change in this world.
